Chancery Cause in Prince Edward Co., VA: The widow of Robert S. Carter, namely, Mary 'Polly' Price, d/o Jacob Price, asks the court to compel William T. Carter, brother of Robert, who holds and manages the property devised to Polly M. Carter by the Will of her father Jacob Price, who died in 1845.
Bond posted in the above Cause of $3,000 by Wm T. Carter, Edward F. Booker, James J. Booker, John T. Carter and James A. Bell.
The estate of Jacob Price is shown valued at $1,218.08 as of 1847.

The Will of Jacob Price was published and admistted to record in the County Court of Prince Edward and probate thereof on 15 Dec 1845. Executors were Nathaniel Price and Jos. A. Watson. The Will leaves considerable property to his daughter, (then the wife of Robert S. Carter) subject however, to the following resolution to whit: that the said property was to be held by the Executors therein named in.....and not to be subject to the debts contracted or control of her said husband Robert S. Carter. In 1847 the said executors appeared in court and declined to be trustees, whereupon the Said Robert S. Carter was appointed in their stead. The said Robert S. Carter has lately died intestate and Wm. T. Carter has qualified as his administrator.
