James Allen "Jimmie" Hite, 91, husband of Katherine Terry Hite, died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston. He was the son of Drewery Allen and Mittie Lee Davis Hite and was a graduate of Clarksville High School with the Class of 1938. He was a World War II Army Veteran and a member of VFW Post 8163 where he was a past Post Commander; and a founding member of Mecklenburg County Life Saving and Rescue Squad. He retired in 1983 after serving the Town of Clarksville for 27 years. A member of Clarksville Baptist Church, Jimmie served as a faithful member and Deacon. Funeral services will be 2PM Monday at Clarksville Baptist Church with the Reverend Greg Randall officiating. Interment will follow at the Eternity Mausoleum in Oakhurst Cemetery. In addition to his wife of 68 years, Jimmie is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lee and Paul Fuller and son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Betty Hite, all of Clarksville; grandchildren, Michael Hite, Tonya Hite, Paula Allgood, Danielle Byington and Greg Fuller. Six great grandchildren, and his sister, Odell Gregory of Chase City, also survive.
