    Notes:

I have a little additional information on James
VAUGHAN who married Sarah LEGRAND in Halifax Co., VA. Recently I corresponded
with a descendant of James & Sarah LeGrand VAUGHAN. She is under the
impression that James & Sarah moved from VA to Anson or Richmond Co., NC about the same time Wm. & Ermine Elliott Vaughan LEGRAND moved to Richmond Co., NC--abt. 1788-89. She gave me no additional information. I know there were
VAUGHANS in both Anson & Richmond counties. I have found the VAUGHAN name in census and cemetery records. The following is taken from an historical/genealogical sketch written by W. I. Everett and appeared in a Rockingham, Richmond Co., NC newspaper many years ago: "James VAUGHAN married a LEGRAND. Their son James LeGrand VAUGHAN married Jane Pickett ROBINSON. Their children: Wm. R. VAUGHAN married Eliza TERRY. Mary, Charles R. and John died in infancy. James Pickett VAUGHAN born 1837 died 1866. Anne Mosly VAUGHAN born 1852, died 1891. Sally Jane born 1846. Charles Milton son of James VAUGHAN and wife, Miss LEGRAND married Mosly TERRY."

I feel these VAUGHANS connect to Ermine--just need the missing piece to my
    puzzle.
