Josie Frances Johnston Marlowe
DRY FORK, Va. - Josie Frances Johnston Marlowe, 85, of 101 Douglas Drive, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at Mountain Valley Elder Care in Henry County.
Born Sept. 6, 1917, in Henry County, she was a daughter of George W. Johnston and Grace Love Fowlkes.
She was a member of County Line Christian Church.
She was married to John Andrew Marlowe, who predeceased her.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Marlowe Lewis of Dry Fork; three sons, Thomas Wesley Marlowe of Chatham, Joel Andrew Marlowe of Danville and Gerald Wayne Marlowe of Dry Fork; three sisters, Beulah J. Wells of Hurt, Elizabeth J. Hall of Spencer and Maxine J. Ivester of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Kenneth Johnston of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at County Line Christian Church with the Revs. Michael E. Hearp and Thomas Hardy and Minister Dean Ashby officiating.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at County Line Christian Church and at other times will be at the residence of her daughter, Brenda Lewis, 101 Douglas Drive, Dry Fork and her son, Joel Marlowe, 119 Wesley Drive, Danville.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the County Line Christian Church Building Fund or the Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church Land Fund.
Scott Funeral Home, Chatham, is in charge of arrangements.
