Verna Gregory Reynolds, 91, formerly of Callands, died Friday, November 18, 2005 at Roman Eagle Memorial Home. She had been a resident of Roman Eagle for the past 10 years. Born June 6, 1914, in Axton, she was the daughter of the late Russell Aubrey Gregory and the late Geneva Wyatt Gregory. She lived most of her life in Callands. She retired from Dan River Mills, Inc., where she was an inspector. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was married to the late Harold Clinton Reynolds. He died February 15, 1996. She is survived by two sons, H. Carl Reynolds of Danville and Brad S. Reynolds of Callands; one daughter, Rita R. Fox of Chatham; a brother, Hassell Gregory of Callands; a sister, Helen G. Scearce of Buffalo Junction; six grand-children and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Russell Dale Reynolds; six brothers, Raymond Gregory, Douglas Gregory, Clifton Gregory, Clinton Gregory, Wesley Gregory, and Herman Gregory; and a sister, Dorothy G. Reynolds. The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 21 at Danville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Daryl Joyce officiating.
