At an earlier time period in the Terry Family Historian under marriages of Bibb Co., Alabama, there was a misidentification of the children of David and Nancy Jordan Terry. This is an attempt to show their true descendants.
David and Nancy Jordan Terry married in Warren County, N.C. 11 Nov 1807. and all of their children were born in North Carolina. About 1831 the family moved to Maury County Tennessee. David Terry died in Maury Co. at the age of 61, and his obit can be found in the National Banner, Monday 30 June 1835.
Nancy J. Terry survived him and can be found in the 1850 census, still in Maury County with her two youngest children, John and Richard.
Her son John M. Terry states (in his write up in "Goodspeed's History of Maury, Williamson, Rutherford, and Marshall counties, page 958 ) that his mother died in 1856.
David Terry's Will was written 11 Sep 1832 and is recorded in Deed Book X , p 287, in Maury county.
In 1838 one of David and Nancy's son, William D. Terry died. His Will is in Will Bk Y, Vol 1, page 109. Maury Co. In this instrument he names all of his brothers and sisters.

In an 1956 letter found in the files of the VA -N.C. Piedmont Society headquarters, in Danville, VA. from Dr. William Seth Terry of Jefferson, Marion Co, TX to Mr. Elijah Sutherlin, he lays out the family of his grandfather and his uncle's families.
He sought further information on David Terry's lineage.
I wanted to finish this off by saying , I am not a descendant of this family, a little further research by descendants is needed. The clues are abundant, but should be done by someone who comes out of this line. The TERRY Family census on this family is totally flawed. Earnest could not read the census.
Mary Murphy Hunter Williams Terry is alive in 1910, living with the widow of her son Manley, who was Emma Steele Terry and Murphy's grandchildren by her son Manley.
