"They were married...under the care of Nottingham Monthly Meeting. After their marriage their plans were to remove to the farm near the Susquehanna just below Peach Bottom, Lancaster County, but the death of the elder Vincent, a few months later, caused them to remain at the old homestead where they lived and whose broad acres they tilled until 1853. Their son Thomas being married about that time, Vincent removed with his family to an adjoining farm which he had previously purchased for his son Joseph, who died in 1839, the first house occupied being the frame dwelling near what was then known as Wicks' Mill. The erection of the brick house on this farm was then begun and upon its completion in the spring of 1855, they removed to this new residence, where both Vincent and Mary spent the remainder of their lives. They were both active and consistent members of Little Britain Meeting, where they attended regularly and where they were both elders for many years. Their married life was particularly happy and congenial, they were honored and esteemed members of the community, and by industry and thrift acquired a comfortable portion of this worlds goods. Side by side they now rest peacefully in Little Britain burying ground. Their ten children, [were] all born at the stone house built in 1804." [Stubbs 1904 Anniversary Meeting, quoted in The Stubbs Family of Little Britain, p 12]
