Book:"The Boaz Family: Ancestors and Descendants" by Robert V. Boaz From Robert Boaz (1999:234) Sometime later he moved to Caswell Co., NC and there bought the estate of Nehemiah Fuller in Dec. 1780. Two and a half years later in June 1783 he bought the estate of Elkanah Haralson. James Archdeacon was sued by Thomas Marr in July 1782 and the suit was continued at each term of court until October 1790 when a judgment was issued against James Archdeacon for one cent. About the time that the judgment against him was issued, James and his wife moved to Warren County, Ga where some of his children were already living. They both died there in about 1795. Boaz; Kansas City, MO; 1999 (see Sources) states on pages 231-235 that James Archdeacon Cody Jr. was born about 1690 in Co. Kilkenny, Ireland and died before April 1761 in Prince Edward County, Virginia. He came to the colonies about 1735. "James appears on the tithable lists of Amelia County [Virginia] in 1751 with three tithables, apparently himself, son James and negro slave Soney." The wife of James Archdeacon Cody is unknown and is not mentioned by name in the records of the Virginia Archives.
