OBITUARY:
Mrs. Samira Carter died at the home of her son, T. J. Carter, four miles south of here, Sunday morning about half past nine o'clock, at the advanced age of 86 years. She had been sick for several weeks.
Funeral services were conducted at the house by Rev. O. M. Keve, Monday afternoon at two o'clock, and the interment was in the cemetery at Reno.
Mrs. Carter had lived most of her life in Georgia where she was born October 26, 1818. Her marriage to Jesse Carter took place October 9, 1834, and to this union were born ten children, of whom five survive. Mrs. Carter came here from Georgia twelve years ago and has been living with her son ever since. For seventy years she had been a member of the Methodist Church. She was a quiet, sunny character, held in high regard by all who knew her.
