Notes for George Charles Rorer: from the Harmon Cook bible George Rorer was born --- 1791 on Saturday at the 20th hour of the (day) at night under the Planet JUPITER. George Rorer son to Abram Rorer and Nancy Cook his wife, was married to Nancy Nowlin daughter of James Nowlin and Lurany his wife, were married March the 28th 1811 on Thursday evening at candle light. He aged 19 years 3 months and 4 days and she aged 15 years and eleven months. George was probably still in Pittsylvania County, VA in April 1824 since he is mentioned in a court proceeding as a surety for his brother Abram Rorer, Jr. George Rorer's headstone reads: Son of Abraham and Nancy Rorrer, married March 2,1811 to Nancy, daughter of James and Luvana Nowlin, all of Pittsylvania City, VA. Died at his residence in Caldwell County. An article found on the Internet states that George and Nancy settled in Howard Co., Missouri in 1829 and were both from Virginia.
