      Capt Christopher Clark (1681-1754, Elizabeth (Clark) Anthony's father, was a Quaker from England and came by the Barbados about 1710. He purchased or patented 30,000 acres of Crown lands in Hanover, Albermarle and Louisa Counties, Va. He married about 1709 to Penelope Johnson (note: Some records say Penelope Massie.) Their known children besides Elizabeth, were Rachael and Micajah. Christopher 'Kit' Clark was Captain of Hanover Co., Militia 1727, and High Sheriff in 1731; Justice of Louisa Co., 1742, Overseer for Friends Meeting House near Sugar Loaf Mountain, 1749 and a law partner of Nicholas Meriweather.
