[S146]  Reynolds Family Association.14.  ROBERT  REYNOLDS  (Joseph,  James)  was  born  in  (North)  Kingstown  about  1679  and  died  in  (North) Kingstown,  his  will  being  proved  Mar.  12,  1716.  He  married  about  1700  DELIVERANCE  SMITH,  born  in Portsmouth about 1684 and died in South Kingstown, daughter of Jeremiah and Mary (Gereardy) Smith. She married (2) in (South) Kingstown July 6, 1718 Joseph Tefft.June 3, 1709 he with others purchased land of the Colony Agents; his share being his homestead farm of 144 acres. May 17, 1710 he with others purchased land of the Colony Agents; his share being 200 acres formerly belonging to Jeremiah Hazard. May 6, 1712 he was admitted freeman in (North) Kingstown. ...1713 he sold the above 200 acres to his brother Joseph Reynolds Apr. 8, 1713 he purchased 33 acres of land of William West. In his will dated Aug. 22, 1713, proved Mar. 12, 1716 he mentions: Wife Deliverance Reynolds to have all estate, both real and personal, while his widow, and at her decease, the house and land wherehe was then living  to  go  to  son  Robert,  he  paying  ?40  to  my  daughter Mary  Reynolds  and  ?10  to  my  daughter  Deborah Reynolds.  Wife  to  be  executrix  with  authority  to  sell  the  land  purchased  from  William  West  and  with  the money to buy a farm for son John Reynolds said son to have the farm at her decease. Dec. 2, 1714 he purchased 40 acres of land of William Burges.Dec.  4,  1715  a  codicil  was  added  to  the  above  will  giving  the  above  40  acres  of  land  to  son  John Reynolds, son Robert to pay certain money to his sisters Mary and Deborah. Inventory:  ?290,  viz.:  2  hives  of  bees,  horse,  mare,  shoemaker's  tools,  sword,  loom,  pewter,  beds,  3 gold rings, silver, etc. From the above it will be seen that son Robert was willed the homestead of 144 acres and son John the 73 acres purchased from William West and William Burges.
