      The will of John Ball, in Will Book 1 of Pittsylvania Co., VA, names no sons but names William Campbell to receive $1.00; dec'd daughter Sarah Campbell, probably the wife of William; Elizabeth Jefferson; executor John Mahan, grandson; and witnesses James Hopkins, Sam'l Jefferson, and William Mahan.Accounts were settled with nine legatees: Elizabeth Jefferson; Catharine Mahan; Thomas Ball; Ruth Peak's heirs; Olive Ball; Sarah Campbell's heirs; Samuel Ball; George Hedrick, son in law; and John Ball's heirs.
