    Judi Schrag"
    Jane,
...A follow up on Nannie Filmore Leavell. I have the following: Colonial Families of the Southern States of America - Blackwell Family, page 66: 7-5: Edwin Smith, born 1849, married 1878 Anna Leavell, daughter of John Leavell of Culpeper County, Virginia.
...Edwin Smith Blackwell was the son of Joseph Blackwell and Lucy Smith. I am thinking that when the Fauquier County, Virginia tombstone inscriptions were typed they didn't pick up on Edwin Smith's last name - Blackwell. The years on the tombstone inscriptions are off, which I have found not be that uncommon. With the months and days the same for date of birth and death, I'm thinking your miscellaneous entry of Nannie Leavell Smith must be Nannie Filmore Leavell, born September 8, 1856 in Fredricksburg, Virginia, died November 13, 1946, daughter of John Minor Leavell and Louisa Mildred Amiss.
    ...What do you think?
    Judi
