The page on your website is this one: John Bolling Sr and Jr. and Stith Bolling on 1830 US Census Pittsylvania Co., Virginia
    11460-11457John-BollingSr.&Jr..jpg

The 1830 census for Pittsylvania..... I believe that is not "Stith Bolling" ... Bolling DNA Group 1.... but rather "Smith Bolling." The Stith family intermarried with the Robert Bolling line of Prince George Co., VA; they are DNA Group 1. To my knowledge there are no Grp 1 Bollings in Pittsylvania. Rather, I believe this is John Bolling of White Oak Creek who had sons, William, John and Smith. William Bolling married Nephany Hodges, d/o Jesse Hodges. Your info says John Bolling, Jr. married Hannah Jackson who has connections to the Emmersons.... so did the Hodges???? You show that John Bolling, Jr. has a son named James Bolling who is found in NC. Interesting.

Here's who I think this John Bolling is:

Processioner's Land Description - Pittsylvania County, VA, 1833-1834

Wills of Pittsylvania Co, Virginia, 1820-1845. Pg. 2:

    Granddaughter, Mary Price.

These Bollings probably lived near Bearskin & the Bannister as did the Parrish family. Dorcas Hodges married James Parrish, Susannah Hodges md Caleb Hundley. I think John Sr. is later found owning property on White Oak Creek in Pittsylvania, but it could be John Jr.

Here's Jesse Hodges [s/o Edmund Hodges & Nephany Walker, s/o Thomas Hodges] will:

Note: Edmond Hodges [s/o Thomas Hodges of Goochland] & Nephany Walker [d/o John Walker] had a daughter Mary Hodges bca 1737 in Goochland, who married Daniel Grubb of Goochland -- she was a sister to Jesse Hodges above; probably cousins to the two girls mentioned above in Jesse's will. Here's Edmond Hodges who married Nephany Walker, d/o John Walker, sister to David Walker:

In most on-line trees, the dau of John Walker, who married Edmund Hodges (actually, sometime before 1740), is named "Nephany", or some variant. Jesse Hodges, s/o Edmund Hodges, had a daughter, Nephany, who married William Bowling..... they moved to Weakley Co., TN circa 1860.

We have no DNA from this line of Bollings/Bowlings.

I have more info which will fit some of your info if you're interested; i.e. Scruggs, John Carter, Sr., John Carter, Sr. .... all Cumberland County VA folks.
