  [S67729] Sam Eanes. 3. JAMES LEE STARLING EANES 1 (Henry1) was born in 1816 in Charlotte County Virginia and died on 30 Aug 1883 in Henry County, Virginia. JAMES married LENA SUSANNA BROWN on 9 May 1844 in Pittsylvania County , Virginia. LENA was born in 1818 and died on 2 May 1906 in Henry County, Virginia. Children from this marriage were: 7 M i. HENRY BARTHOLOMEW EANES was born in 1845 in Pittsylvania County , Virginia, died on 11 Sep 1921 in Mountain Valley, Henry County, Virginia, and was buried in Eanes Family Cemetery: Mountain Valley, Virginia. Research Notes: THE HENRY BULLETIN, Tue., Sept. 13, 1921, p. 1, col. 2 [edited]. Mr. H. B. Eanes died at his home at Mt. Valley Sunday morning. Death wa s due to the infirmities of old age, he having been in declining health f or several months. He being in the neighborhood of eighty years of age. M r. Eanes was highly esteemed by all who knew him and was a Confederate s oldier, his death being a severe shock to his many friends and relative s. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nannie A. Eanes, and several sons a nd daughters, among them being Mr. J. M. Eanes of Martinsville, S. M., P . L. and H. C. of Mt. Valley.
