      THE HENRY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Tue., Mar. 3, 1931, p. 6, co l. 8 [edited]. Funeral services for J. J. Eanes, age 52, highly esteemed citizen and farmer of the Sandy River community, who passed away last Friday following a lingering illness, were held from the late residence the following day. Interment was in the family burial ground near Sago, Franklin county. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren. Surviving are his wife and eleven children: William of Martinsville; Lloyd of Bassett; Morton, Fletcher, Edwin, Lewis, Samuel, Pearl, Ada, Mesdames Viola Amos and Nannie Mollow. His father and two brothers, George and Oscar and two sisters, Mesdames Ida Hankins and Nora Riddle also survive. [Ref.       John married MARY CHARLOTTE LEGWIN on 2 Jan 1902 in Franklin County, Virginia. MARY was born on 6 Jul 1882, died on 5 Feb 1929 in Home In Sandy River, and was buried in Sago, Va; Lawrence Cemetery.

      THE HENRY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Tue., Feb. 12, 1929, p. 3, col. 4 . Mrs. John J. Eanes, age 46, died Monday morning at her home at Sandy R iver, following a ten day illness, brought on by a complication of dise ases. She had been in declining health for several years and her condit ion gradually grew worse, and little hope for her recovery was entertai ned. A short funeral service was held at the old Legwin homestead, her b irthplace, Tuesday after noon, and burial made at Sago, Franklin county . Rev. J. B. Flora, pastor of the Church of the Brethren, near Sago, co nducted the services at the home and the grave. She was a woman of nobl e Christian character, a devoted wife and mother, loved and cherished b y her large host of friends and neighbors. She was a member of the Dunk ard faith. Surviving, besides her husband are four daughters, Mrs. Viol a Amiss of Callands, Misses Nancy, Pearl and Ada of Sandy River, and se ven sons, namely William of Martinsville, Morton, Lloyd, Fletcher, Edwa rd, Louis and Samuel, all of Sandy River. One brother, W. Legwin, of Ma rtinsville and one sister, Mrs. William Lawrence of Sago, also remain. [ Ref.
