      William Addison8 Wells (Matthew Clay7, Joseph6, Matthew5, John4, Barnaby3, John2, Barnaby1) was born 1862 in Pittsylvania Co., Virginia, and died April 22, 1899 in Pittsylvania Co., Virginia. He married Lelia Ella Stowe August 28, 1892 in Pittsylvania Co., Virginia. She was born June 03, 1868, and died July 01, 1930.

      Children of William Wells and Lelia Stowe are:

      Mrs. Mary Clay Wells Davis of Route 7 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA went to be with her Lord in Memorial Hospital in Danville. She had been in declining health for a year and in the hospital since November 9.

      She was the daughter of the late William Addison Wells and Lelia Ellen Stowe Wells. Most of her life was spent in the Danville area.

      Prior to her retirement she was employed by Dan River Mills in Danville.

      On December 7, 1929 she married Hutch Lee Davis, Sr, who died in 1959.

      She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

      Survivors are three sons Hutch Lee Davis, Jr, of Franklin Turnpike, Carson Melton Davis of High Point, NC and David Daniel Davis of Ringgold, VA, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

      Funeral services were conducted at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend J H Burke and Reverend Barry Crompton officiating.

      Burial was in Highland Burial Park in Danville.
