    • Second wife of Sr Francis Eppes, grandson of Thomas Jefferson. Her father was Senator/Governor Nicholas Ware of Georgia. She and Francis had six children, Susan Frances, Maria Jefferson, Martha Virginia (married Thomas Shine), Nicholas Ware, Robert Francis (died of typhoid fever in 1894), and Carolina Matilda(married David Shepherd Shine).

      He married Martha Rebecca Whitehead on November 15, 1881 at Pine Hill Plantation, the home of his parents in Orange County, near Orlando, Florida. They had three children that died young and four who survived. He helped his father plant orange groves and a vegetable garden

      The family was planning to move back to Tallahassee when he died from typhoid fever. His wife, Martha Rebecca, and the children did move back to Tallahassee after his death.

      Funeral services were held at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church.
