Mrs. Carolyn Reynolds Stewart wife of Mr. James Stewart, who is wintering his horses on the farm of his father-in-law, Mr. Van Reynolds, in Elk Neck, was seriously injured on Friday last, and for several days, the past week, her condition was critical.
Mrs. Stewart, who is an expert equestrienne, was exercising one of her husband's thoroughbreds, when the animal reared on his hind feet, fell backward, before she could release her hold, the animal had fallen on her.
She was hurried to Union Hospital where it was disclosed her pelvis was broken in five places, besides suffering other serious injuries.
