      Dear Mary Frances,
I hope you are doing well.
While researching the Dalton family genealogy, I came across you work, your website!
I have another genealogy question for you.
I need to prove that Captain David Dalton I was a captain in the continental line in Albemarle Co., VA
      Name: David T. Dalton I
      Born: 1725
Died: 6 June 1804 Rutherford, NC
      Married: 1742 Hannah Goode
Son of Timothy Dalton Sr. and Elizabeth Phillips
I am helping a friend with her Colonial Dames of America application.
We need to prove Service to country. The Colonial Dames will accept service as an officer in the
Continental Line or militia, Vestryman, paid taxes (Tithables) or rendered service such as food and supplies to the war effort.
We would appreciate any help you can provide.
      Many thanks.

Alice, I do not find your Dalton's in my database. I did a google search for David Dalton and found this address at Family Search. https://ancestors.familysearc

      Mary Frances,
Thanks for your reply and research. Yes, I found and read the documents you suggested. There is another question and this ties into your website. Prove Cyrena Dalton is the daughter of Benjamin Dalton. She married William Joseph Neal, son of William David Neal and Mary Jane Dove.
      Many thanks for your help.

      Hi again,
The death certificate for [https://www.reynoldspatova.org/showmedia.php?mediaID=18609] William David Neal 1863-1951 who is shown as the s/o Joseph Neal and ELLEN Dalton [Nannie on her headstone] was married to Jane Dove; the informant's signature is THEO Neal, Gretna Virginia I believe there is some connection to the 'Beaver Pond Neals'. Thomas David Neal, s/o Thomas H. and Wilmouth Mastin Williams NEAL married Louisa Franklin Carter, d/o Samuel 'Carter's Tavern' and Elizabeth H. Neal. Thomas David Neal founded NEAL'S WAREHOUSE in Danville and later moved to Richmond. I believe there is a connection between these families. AND I suspect there is more than one William David Neal! I will continue to search.
      Fondly,
      Mary Frances
