      William David Neal was the son of Thomas Neal and Elizabeth Brown. Thomas and Elizabeth married 01 Jan 1787 in Mecklenburg Co., VA. She was born in 1768, daughter of Thomas Brown, Sr. Thomas Neal was born in Amelia Co., VA, probably about 1761. He was the son of Roger Neal and Ann Hatchett. Thomas served in the Revolutionary War (War Record W5407). Thomas Neal died in Halifax Co., VA, on 10 Apr 1824. His will, dated 10 Dec 1823, was recorded in Halifax Co., VA, on 27 Sep 1824 (WB 13, p. 271). He names his wife Elizabeth and 9 children. His children are: Abraham H., Paschal P., Liza D., Roger B., Harriet W., A.M., Polly P., James A., and William David.

      George Washington Neal was the son of William David Neal and Sibyl Yeaman, who married in 1835 (Pittsylvania Co., VA, MB 1, p. 110). William David Neal was born 31 Jul 1815 in Halifax Co., VA, and died 25 Jan 1867 while living near Providence in Caswell Co., NC. Sibyl was born 23 Aug 1807 in Pittsylvania Co., VA, and died in Sept 1873 in Caswell Co., NC. The 1850 census for Pittsylvania Co., VA, lists William Neal and Sibyl with 5 children.
      Their children were: Harriet A.E. (01 Sep 1836), John T. (20 Mar 1838), Mary P. (1840), James William (1844), and George Washington (10 Aug 1847). Harriet A. E. Neal married William R. Ingram in Caswell Co., NC, on 10 Nov 1857. Her nephew John David Neal reported that her family moved to Missouri with several children. John T. Neal married Lucy A. Howard in Caswell Co., NC, on 11 Dec 1859. Lucy was the daughter of Alanson Howard and Susan Swift Shelton. Mary P. Neal married Crawford D. Sledge in Caswell Co., NC, on 05 Feb 1868. James William Neal married Sallie Belle Riddle in Campbell Co., VA, on 26 Nov 1895. They moved to Caswell Co., NC, and are buried in the Moon Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
      William David Neal and Sibyl Yeaman married 05 October 1835 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Her father, John Yeaman, sent his written permission. Bondsman was her brother Isaac Yeaman. The 1850 census of Pittsylvania County, Virginia, lists William Neal, wife Sibyl and their five children. By 25 November 1852, when an accounting of Sibyl's father's estate was recorded, William David and family were living in North Carolina. John Yeaman's will was recorded in Pittsylvania County, Virginia on 15 November 1852. It was written in 1838, and names his daughter Sibbey Neal.
